William Ruoto was born in New Jersey. He currently resides outside Nashville, Tennessee.

He has spent his career as a book designer in Nashville and New York City. Inspired and influenced by pop art, advertising, film, vintage books, and rock n’ roll imagery, his designs create an eye-catching aesthetic. He has designed many best-sellers, celebrity-driven titles, fiction. non-fiction and other projects. 

In the past, he has lectured at New York University's School of Continuing Education on the topic of book design.

He has won multiple awards at the New York Book Show in the years 2014 and 2015.
